APPROACH

The community’s existing waterfall feature was dilapidated and required removal.  We designed a masonry retaining wall to uphold the existing landscape along with a natural wall to highlight the plants in the area. We installed additional colorful perennials and grasses to incorporate color all season long.

Two red construction vehicles are busy in a dirt yard near a rock wall and trees, preparing for front entry landscaping. An excavator and skid steer loader hum with activity. A worker in a yellow vest stands nearby, all under a clear sky.
A cleared construction site with a dirt mound is bordered by tall trees. A paved path for front entry landscaping runs alongside, and a lamppost stands near the edge. Red and white caution tape is visible against the blue sky in the background.
A newly constructed curved stone retaining wall graces the slope, seamlessly integrating with the front entry landscaping. Exposed concrete blocks rest on top, complementing the construction sites earthy tones and scattered trees in the background.
A construction site showcases a paved walkway and streetlamp, framed by a raised stone wall. In the background, piles of dirt and trees hint at future front entry landscaping under a clear blue sky.

PLANTING COMPONENTS

The existing plant material was overgrown and out of scale. The area was dark and neglected.

We chose plant material that will bloom every season for a cornucopia of color year-round.  Magnolias will welcome community members in spring.  Hydrangeas and a diverse group of perennials will flower continually all summer long.  Plants such as the flaming yellow Ginkgo tree will provide bright fall foliage.

RESULT

A new and updated entrance will greet members and guests of this community adding value and year-round beauty.

Front Yard Landscaping Idea A community entrance
A lush front entry landscaping features a garden bed with colorful flowers and shrubs atop a curved stone retaining wall. Tall trees and a lamp post stand in the background, beneath a blue sky with clouds.
A curved stone retaining wall, part of elegant front entry landscaping, is adorned with vibrant yellow, purple, and green plants and flowers rising from a neatly manicured lawn. Additional flowering shrubs grow at the base of the wall, surrounded by a wooded area.
