Hicks Nurseries Inc., the largest garden center on Long Island, is seeking a team focused, full time Landscape Design-Build Salesperson!

This individual will close on sales opportunities while providing the ultimate client experience.  Prepare highly creative landscape design solutions to suit a variety of site conditions and client preferences.

Essential Functions:

Sell landscape projects by partnering with clients on their goals and finding solutions

• Follow our documented sales process to guide projects from initial client contact through final payment and aftercare.
• Efficiently create and present, artistic, and inspirational landscape designs to meet or exceed client expectations.
• With assist from our support team, accurately prepare drawings and estimates for each project.
• Along with project managers, coordinate and manage installation of projects.

Work to grow/promote the business and prospect new clients by networking.

Build relationships with builders, developers, real estate agents, architects, etc. to maintain leads to fill the sales pipeline.

Position Requirements:

Degree in landscape design or landscape architecture.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in landscape sales.

Strong horticulture skills and knowledge.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office products; ability to learn computer systems that are new to you.

Valid, clean driver’s license

Physical Requirements

Includes activity in client/prospective client yards, gardens, and job sites which may have uneven ground, rocks, etc.

Prolonged periods of time sitting in a car driving to/from customer locations.

Salary commensurate with experience plus commission.
