Landscaping Project Story: A Community Entrance

BEFORE

AFTER
GOALS
The community wanted a new entrance feature with colorful plant material to tie into the existing landscape.
- Remove existing waterfall and rubble
- Design a stone wall with an updated aesthetic for the community
- Provide season-long color
Budget: $75,000
Services
- Demolition, plant, and debris removal
- Grading and wall construction
- Plantings
APPROACH
The community’s existing waterfall feature was dilapidated and required removal. We designed a masonry retaining wall to uphold the existing landscape along with a natural wall to highlight the plants in the area. We installed additional colorful perennials and grasses to incorporate color all season long. Â
PLANTING COMPONENTS
The existing plant material was overgrown and out of scale. The area was dark and neglected.
We chose plant material that will bloom every season for a cornucopia of color year-round. Magnolias will welcome community members in spring. Hydrangeas and a diverse group of perennials will flower continually all summer long. Plants such as the flaming yellow Ginkgo tree will provide bright fall foliage.
RESULT
A new and updated entrance will greet members and guests of this community adding value and year-round beauty.Â
WHAT THE CLIENT SAID
