Hicks, specifically Craig Donley– who managed the project, were in daily contact. We knew who was showing up, when they would be there, and exactly what they would be doing. Other than a few days of bad weather, there were no wasted moments. This meant that project was completed, from ground-breaking to finishing touches, with remarkable speed. Craig and his team coordinated all permits and communications with the town. They asked our input and advice with all questions and design changes.
Every member of the Hicks team was friendly, hard-working, and respectful of our home and our family.
A quick anecdote: My daughters’ cherry tree, the one that blooms in April– right around her birthday–was a casualty of the renovation. This was very upsetting to her… hysterically upsetting. Craig and team made sure to get the same type of tree placed somewhere else in the yard. They included my daughter in the placement, the hole digging, and the ceremonial planting of the new tree. Not only that, but Juan (everyone’s favorite Hicks demo guy and strong-man) cut tree-stump seats from the old cherry for my children to sit on beneath the new one.
When you begin a huge project, there are usually so many headaches and hassles, so many hurdles and setbacks. There was none of that with Hicks. Can’t recommend them enough.”

“I have a very small back yard (30×30 feet) that was just a patch of grass and bushes. I told Craig at Hicks what my vision was – a courtyard feeling with a patio and landscaping, no grass, kind of a secret garden. They came up with a plan and while it was the most expensive of the quotes I got, it was exactly what I had been hoping for.
The installation was quick and clean. There was a problem with drainage and they immediately made some changes to fix it. Couple of small items didn’t survive the winter and they replaced them no problem. Now a year later I am THRILLED with my secret garden and go out there all the time. Highly recommend.”

Our Landscape Designer, Anthony Musso, was wonderful. ..he was great at making suggestions and providing insight on potential alternatives due to our limited entry access. They came in with beautiful detailed plans including pavers leading to the pool area, a complete BBQ patio design, back pavers and secret garden area behind the pool house and so much more.
Every tree, plant, shrub and flower was meticulously planned out. He even did the elevation plan for us. Craig is brilliant and so wonderful to work with.
